A total of 17 police have today been awarded medals during the Heroes day Celebrations at Kololo Independence grounds.
The Prime Minister, Rt. Hon Robinah Nabbanja, who presided over the event, led senior government officials in laying wreaths on the tomb of Former President, Yusuf Kironde Lule, at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds during the Heroes Day Celebrations.
During the awarding ceremony, Police Spokesperson, CP Fred Enanga, was among those awarded the golden jubilee medal.
The 50th Anniversary Golden Jubilee Medal is awarded in recognition for outstanding service and loyalty to the country.
Other medals given out included; Nalubaale, Luwero Triangle, Damu, Long Service Gold Police, Long Service Silver Police and Honorary Medals.
Enanga headed the Economic Crimes Department and worked as CID Commander KMP, Commandant Land Protection Police Unit, Commissioner CID Administration and Training, among others.
A total of 82 persons including UPDF officers were awarded National Medals in different categories.
