Gerald Aseera, a journalist working with Masindi-based Kings Broadcasting Services (KBS), has been shot dead in Masindi town.

Aseera was a news anchor at Kings FM 93.6.

According to his colleagues, Aseera was reportedly shot in the chest by a security guard at a soda depot on Wednesday morning.

According to the report, the security guard allegedly suspected him to be a thief.

The journalist was rushed to Masindi General Hospital but died shortly after.

His body was taken to the hospital mortuary.
