Uganda business delegation led by 1st Deputy Prime Minister of Uganda and Minister for East African Community Affairs, Rt Hon Rebecca Kadaga, on Sunday arrived in Kinshasa, for Uganda-DR Congo Business Summit.
“Have arrived in Kinshasa, leading a trade and business mission, from Uganda, engagements begin (Monday),” Kadaga tweeted on arrival.
According to the program, the Uganda-DRC Economic Forum will run from May 30 to June 4, 2022, in Kinshasa.
It is being held under the theme “Boosting Trade and Investment between Uganda and the DRC”.
The forum kicks off today, Monday with welcome remarks from the Ambassador of Uganda to the DRC and the Ambassador of the Congo to Uganda.
This will be followed by speeches by the Uganda Private Sector Foundation, Monsieur Stephen Asiimwe, and the Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA).
First Deputy Prime Minister Rt Hon Kadaga and the Presidential Adviser on Special Tasks, Mr Odrek Rwabwogo, will also address the forum.
Others lined up for speeches include; Monsieur Albert Yuma Mulimbi, DRC Minister of Agriculture Désiré M’zinga Birihanze, the Minister of Industry Julien Paluku Kahongya, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of East African Community Affairs Ms. Edith Mwanje, the Minister of Foreign Trade of the DRC and opening of the Economic Forum Jean-Lucien Bussa Tongba.
The forum will give an overview of the East African Community (EAC) by looking at the progress and benefits followed by an Interdepartmental Dialogue (VIP Room).
The first day will climax with a welcome dinner and networking event.

The summit was organized by Private Sector Foundation in partnership with Equity Bank, Uganda Export Promotions Board, Uganda Manufacturers Association, Trade Mark, Uganda Airlines, Office of the Senior Presidential Advisor on Special Duties, Uganda National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Federation des Entreprises du Congo (FEC).
