Gen David Sejusa was on Thursday documented for retirement at the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs Headquarters in Mbuya, Kampala.
The former spymaster will officially leave the army in July this year.
“He will be retired under Batch 12 in July this year,” said army spokesperson Brig Gen Felix Kulayigye.
Sejusa first applied to leave the army in 1996 but was turned down.
Earlier reports had said Sejusa would be retiring from the army this month along other 34 senior Generals including Elly Tumwine.
However, Kulayigye said on TV that this was rumour-mongering by journalists and maintained retirement would be in July.
However, Sejusa was only seen filing the retirement documents yesterday.
