Police have arrested Dr Kizza Besigye’s home manager, Benson Mwesigye, at the opposition figure’s home in Kasangati, Wakiso district.
Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, confirmed the arrest saying Mwesigye knocked a police vehicle.
“We have arrested one person, that is Benson Mwesigye,” Owoyesigyire said on Thursday afternoon.
“It is alleged that he knocked one of the patrol vehicles that were within the vicinity.”
According to Owoyesigyire, Mwesigye is being charged with a traffic offence of reckless driving and causing an accident.
“It is a minor accident. Basically, no one was injured or died in this kind of accident.”
Mwesigye was bundled onto a waiting police van and driven away while his boss (Besigye) was taken back to his home and placed under police guard.
