Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Uganda’s Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations and Commander of UPDF Land Forces, has concluded his three-day working visit to Rwanda.
He held talks with President Paul Kagame at Urugwiro Village (the president’s office).
He then paid respects to genocide victims at the Kigali Genocide Memorial and toured the Kigali Arena.
He later visited President Kagame’s home in Bugesera district where he was gifted with 10 Inyambo cows.
“After a very fruitful 3-day visit to Rwanda, I would like to thank His Excellency President Paul Kagame and the government and people of Rwanda for the very warm way we were received and treated. We discussed a wide range of issues,” Muhoozi tweeted on his official handle Wednesday afternoon.
One of the issues they discussed concerned “the few difficulties still connected with the border opening (the high cost of PCR tests for Covid-19 etc).”
“President Paul Kagame assured me all that will be sorted out,” Muhoozi confirmed.
“I thank His Excellency President Kaguta Museveni for giving me the opportunity to serve my nation by helping to rebuild the very important strategic relationship between Uganda and Rwanda,” he added.
