Several people have been injured following an accident at Naluvule in Luwero District along Kampala-Gulu Highway.

According to Police Traffic PRO ASP Nampiima Faridah, the accident involved a bus Reg. No UAV 677C belonging to Makome Bus Company and an unidentified pickup truck.

The incident happened at 12:25hours this afternoon 22/02/22 when the bus heading to Gulu from Kampala knocked the pickup after it’s driver carelessly joined the road as the bus was approaching.

The bus driver swerved off the road, lost control, and overturned before resting on the driver’s side.

The driver of the pickup which had been selling onions drove off immediately.

Only one victim identified as Atim Babra, a female aged 22 years old and resident of Gulu presented her particulars to the police.

The other bus occupants escaped with minor injuries and declined to be taken as victims.

The scene has been visited by DTO Luwero and the team.

Faridah said the possible cause of the accident was careless driving.
