Uganda Airlines has revealed that it is considering adding Grasshoppers locally Known as ‘Nsenene’, a Ugandan delicacy on its menu for regional and International Flights on request.

The Airlines in a statement released Saturday Afternoon, said that the addition of ‘Nsenene’ on their menu, will bring the Ugandan Culture to the world, saying, “our key products are the people and the experience.”

The Airlines noted that the move will also boost tourism marketing and the livelihood of people in the grasshopper value chain going forward.

Uganda Airlines Management was responding to an incident where a passenger On Uganda Airlines Flight No. 446 from Entebbe to Dubai, was on Friday caught on video engaging in selling and procuring of ‘Nsenene’.

According to Uganda Airlines, the incident happened at a time the passengers were boarding, saying it was disruptive.

“We don’t condone he acts of the passengers selling Nsenene and low standards of serving it to people who are buying, we will not take it this conducts on board lightly because it undermines the spirit of the National career,” Management said.

The Airlines revealed that it is in talks with the passengers involved, noting if there is another occurrence of such conducts on board, the passenger will be offloaded without further consideration.

“No one Should be exposed to an unruly market experience on our flight, the unacceptable disruptive behavior prevents the performance of critical duties of the flight crew.” The Statement read.

Minister Orders Suspension of Staff,

The Minister for Works and Transport, General Edward Katumba Wamala, said noted that all members of staff that were available as the passenger turned the cabin into a grasshopper market place, be suspended.

“I work with the Leadership of the Airlines, and if they see it fit that responsible when this particular incident happened should be suspended, they should be,” Katumba said.
