Two people have reportedly died after an explosion that rocked a pork joint in Komamboga near Bahai Temple on Saturday evening.
The incident happened at Digida Pork Joint a few minutes to 10pm. Some residents in the area said they heard a loud blast followed by alarms for help.
A video clip making rounds on social media captured after the incident show people including women crying for a one Emily, who presumably perished as a result of the explosion.
“Emily did not commit any crime, the child has died for nothing…,” one of the women is heard crying in a video.
Media reports indicate that the one Emily, a girl died on spot and that another yet to be identified person, a man, also died while being transported to hospital for first aid.
In another video, a woman who claims to work at the Joint identified the second victim as Taata Africa who she said is their customer. She said she was not certain about the number of the injured people but confirmed that the place was filled to capacity.
The cause of the explosion and the magnitude of the danger are not yet established.
Police is yet to make a statement on the incident and neither have authorities in security we contacted responded to our calls.
