Bobi Wine Visits Ssegirinya, Ssewanyana at Kigo Prison

Leaders from the National Unity Platform (NUP) led by former presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine, Lewis Rubongoya, and Joel Ssenyonyi, have visited remanded MPs, Muhammad Ssegirinya (Kawempe North) and Allan Ssewanyana (Makindye West) at Kigo government prison in Wakiso District.

Leaders from the National Unity Platform (NUP) led by former presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine, Lewis Rubongoya, and Joel Ssenyonyi, have visited remanded MPs, Muhammad Ssegirinya (Kawempe North) and Allan Ssewanyana (Makindye West) at Kigo government prison in Wakiso District.

MPs Ssewanyana and Ssegirinya were remanded to prison on several charges including murder, attempted murder, aiding and abetting terrorism in connection to the recent killings in Masaka sub-region which left over 25 people dead.

The NUP leaders, upon arrival at Kigo Prison were left to proceed inside the prison, however Journalists were denied entry.

Speaking shortly after visiting the MPs, Kyagulanyi said the legislators are live but in pain, mostly Ssegirinya who sustained injuries on his foot.

“He (Ssegirinya) says he was beaten so badly that he blacked out and doesn’t remember what they did to him after his arrest, We believe he needs advanced treatment,” Kyagulanyi said.

Kyagulanyi revealed that the MPs are still Strong although they were beaten and still in pain.

He described the MPs arrest, and detention as persecution from the state.
