It is now more than 24 hours of despair for Opwelia Nahabwe and Francis Atweta whose son, Alvis Akampa went missing on Saturday afternoon.
Akampa, 16, is a student in senior three at St Henry’s College Kitovu. He is reported to have left home in the afternoon of Saturday July 18 but has not returned since.
His parents live in Wakiso district in central Uganda.
According to the family, at first, they thought he wasn’t far from home until curfew time “when we asked all our not-far-away relations in and around Wakiso headquarters and surrounding areas.”
The family has now embarked on using social media and reporting to police to trace his whereabouts.
“We have now decided to report to police as we calmly pray that he is well. We have recorded a Police Missing Person case and all the efforts are being done to locate his whereabouts,” says the family in a search note widely shared on social media.
They are appealing to any member of the public with information regarding their missing son to call on 0772377525 or 0776421883
