He was detained at CID headquarters in Kibuli but on Thursday evening, he was transported to Pader district via Gulu where he underwent a medical examination on his mental health.

Francis Olugu, the Deputy Director of Criminal Investigations said in an interview that they subjected Odonga Otto to mental health examination in order to ascertain his mental wellbeing under police form number 24.

He said two of the many files on Odonga Otto have been sanctioned by the Directorate of Public Prosecution.

Olugu says Odonga Otto shall on Friday morning be charged before the Chief Magistrate of Pader district with alleged malicious damage and assault of a driver and later be brought to Gulu Magistrate’s court to answer another charge of assault of Geoffrey Okot, a journalist working with Choice FM in Gulu in the afternoon hours.

Juliet Otto, Odonga’s wife and lawyer under Odonga Otto and Company Advocates says she is greatly affected by the way her husband and client is being treated and that she has put all the emotions aside and ia ready to represent him in court to ensure that he is given a fair hearing. URN
