“Our aim was two-fold, first to focus on the effects of Covid-19, on the structure and quality of people’s lives, and second to describe and evaluate how governments all over the world have dealt with the pandemic. In particular, we try to explain why some countries have done so much better than others,” the Network said in a statement.

Mauritius island which ranked 44th globally, was ranked the happiest in Africa.

Uganda, the Pearl of Africa, was ranked 83rd making it the happiest in East Africa, Kenya 86th and Tanzania 94th.

In 2017, expatriates voted Uganda as the friendliest country to live in.
