The director in charge of national security in Algeria, Abdel Ghani Hamel has said that experts from Algerian police will train Uganda police officers in handling and installation of CCTV cameras.

“We shall train them on how to handle CCTV cameras and how to install and use them,” he noted.

He also noted that Uganda police officers will be trained in other fields that the police chiefs of both countries will find necessary.

Gen Kayihura thanked the Algerian police boss for maintaining the relationship between the 2 countries.

“They will give us technical consultancy to prepare for the camera project.”

Gen Kayihura noted that the relationship between the 2 countries will help Uganda police blossom in a bid to combat crime.

President Museveni recently ordered for the installation of CCTV cameras along major towns and highways to help reduce crime.
