Buganda road Chief Magistrate’s court has on Wednesday slapped fresh charges of terrorism and aiding Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebels to the acting Tabliq Muslim Amir (leader) for Nakasero, Sheikh Yhaya Mwanje.
Sheikh Mwanje was charged together with 6 others for belonging to ADF and recruiting for the organisation classified as terrorist.
The others charged were Buyondo Muhammad aged 43, Ssendegeya Abdu Wahab 37, Musa Ssekandi 37, Nyanzi Yusuf 40, Kalyango Jibril 29, and Balyejusa Bruhan Kalyango 34.
“You are charged with belonging to a terrorist organization contrary to section 11(i) (a) of the Anti terrorism act,” court stated.
They were also charged with aiding and abetting terrorism contrary to section 8 of the Anti terrorism act ,2002.
Chief Magistrate Jameson Karemani remanded them to 13th September and remanded them to Luzira.
Mwanje was earlier charged for murdering May Muhammad Kiggundu in November 2016
