Police has reported another incident of mysterious murder in Entebbe, in yet another of what has become a series of serial killings in Wakiso district. The Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Emilian Kayima said on Friday that a decomposing body of Aisha Nakasinde, 25 was discovered on Thursday near Kasenyi landing site in Entebbe.
Police understands that the day Nakasinde went missing she was supposed to travel to Kasenyi landing site and it is suspected that the deceased was waylaid by the murderers on her way.
As has been the case in previous similar murders in Entebbe, Nakasinde was killed in a brutal way and sticks shoved into her genital parts and her mouth, Kayima disclosed on Friday morning.
“There’s another reported death in Entebbe where 25 year old Aisha Nakasinde was found murdered in the same style like the others have been killed,” Kayima said.
The victim went missing from her home in Bugabo, Katabi town council in Wakiso district on August 13 and a case had been reported at Mpala police station.
The Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson said that the decomposing body was discovered following a police search operation on Thursday and was later taken to Mulago for postmortem.
Kayima said that no arrests have been made yet.
“This murder points to the fact that these crimes are organized. Our officers have visited the crime scene including the RPC, his deputy and investigators who spoke to the community members,” he said.
“We are intensifying our security measures to curb this crime. We ask residents to remain calm and vigilant and to report any suspicious characters in their area that could be involved in this murder.”
In June, a 17-year-old girl identified as Norah Wanyana, was discovered killed in the same gruesome manner like Nakasinde in Entebbe. During the same month, another female, Faith Komugisha, 31 was killed and her corpse discovered naked near Ssese Gateway Beach in Katabi.
Another victim of the serial killings is Gorretti Nansubuga, 19, who was murdered early in June and dumped in a banana plantation.
In July, two similar murders were reported by police; Aisha Kasowole, a resident of Abaita Ababiri and Rose Nakimuli, 27 who was raped, killed and later dumped in a banana plantation. A long stick had been forced into her genitals.
Nine men have since been arrested in connection with the murders since June. It remains unclear what the motivation behind this spate of murders could be.
