Over 200 speakers including government representatives, international delegates and those from local NGOs, private and civil society organizations will be speaking at this year’s ICT4D conference scheduled for April.
The annual conference will be held at Speke Resort Munyonyo from April 30 to May 3, 2019
Founded by Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and now in its 11th session, the conference brings together the global digital development community comprising of hundreds of public, private and civil society organizations from across the humanitarian and international development community to share, learn and innovate.
It attracts a diverse audience of over a thousand technical advisors, executives, and others who offer a range of practical insights on applying technology to development and humanitarian challenges. During the forum, delegates also share how they have used innovations in technology to increase the impact of their work in Uganda and globally.
Highly interactive and hands-on, the Conference will feature over 300 sessions over 9 Conference tracks.
Speakers and attendees will examine and exchange experience on digitally powered innovations to assess soil health, and share lessons from mobile based advisory services.
Other fields to be discussed include; digital financial inclusion, responsible data and information security, new digital diversity focusing on gender and disability, supply chain management, water security, health and nutrition as well as humanitarian response and resilience
Among the Speakers will be Jennifer Poidatz the VP Humanitarian Response, Catholic Relief Service, Tillman Bruett the Director of Secretariat of the Task Force on Digital Financing of the Sustainable Development Goals, United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF).
Jane Meseck, Senior Director at Global Programs & Partnerships, Microsoft Philanthropies, Lauren Woodman the Chief Executive NetHope and Olive Birungi Lumonya the National Director SOS Childrens’ Villages will also speak.
Others include Leesa Shrader the Program Director AgriFin, Mercy Corps, Dr Revi Sterling the Director USAID WomenConnect Challenge and Kellie Bentz, Head of Global Disaster, Response and Relief for AirBnB.
