According to the  charge sheet, Kihika in February this year lied to a police officer who was recording his statement at Jinja road police station that his (Kihika) phone had been stolen by a fellow police officer.

The accused denied the charges before Nakawa Grade One Magistrate Christine Nantege before being remanded to Luzira up to August 16.

Kihika is under detention for a number of criminal charges accruing from the period when he was still the acting Managing Director at the  state owned broadcaster.

Kihika was recently charged by the Anti-Corruption Court for embezzlement and   causing of financial loss of  $9,510 to government.

The former acting UBC Managing Director is also being investigated in another case involving Shs3.6b that government lost in connection with UBC-Airtel sponsorship deal to air the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil.
