President Yoweri Museveni has asked Ugandans to love their neighbors in his Christmas message while attending a church service in Kiruhura district.
On Christmas Day, the President and First Lady, Janet Museveni attended prayers at St Luke Nshwerenkye Church of Uganda in Rushere township, Kiruhura district.
“I congratulate all Ugandans on making it to Christmas. I also ask that we love our neighbours as we love ourselves and as God loves us,” Museveni said in a statement.
“Love your neighbour with all your heart and soul as you love God”.
He said it is wrong to love God whom you have never seen and hate your neighbour whom you live with every day.
Quoting the book of Genesis, Museveni alluded to God’s directive to man to dominate nature and urged Ugandans to manage the environment as it is their responsibility as per the scriptures.
