The in-charge Kigandaalo health centre IV in Mayuge District, Dr Ibrahim Gwaluka, was shot dead by unknown assailants.
It is reported that the deceased was gunned towards midnight as he approached his home in Iganga alongside his wife. The wife escaped and is said to be fine.
He was the treasurer of Uganda Medical Association (UMA) Mayuge Branch.
The killers and their motives are not yet known as well as their whereabouts.
Police Spokesperson, SSP Emilian Kayima, has confirmed the deadly incident. He told SoftPower News that Police has already embarked on the search for the assailants.
“Yes, it is sad he was murdered unfortunately, but our officers are on the ground hunting for the criminals,” he said
His body is currently at Iganga hospital mortuary.
