American RnB singer Elgin Baylor Lumpkin alias Ginuwine has arrived in Uganda ahead of the Soul and RnB Safari show at Speke Resort Munyonyo where he is set to perform on Saturday.
Ginuwine better known for his 2003 release ‘In those Jeans’, arrived on Thursday night aboard KLM Airlines.
The singer, songwriter, dancer and actor said he was happy to be in Uganda and is looking forward to a great show.
Saturday’s show will also feature Ugandan RnB and Soil musicians including Maurice Kirya, Azizi Azion and Tonya Ahenda, Naava Grey and Kenneth Mugabi.
Tickets go for Shs 150,000 Gold and Shs 350,000 VIP.
Ginuwine began his career as a member of Swing Mob in the early 1990s ans was signed to Epic Records as a solo artist in the mid-1990s. He has since released a number of multi-platinum and platinum-selling albums and singles.
In 2001, he had a number-four hit on the Billboard Hot 100 with the single “Differences”, which also peaked at number-one on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
