The there is only a single toilet stance which is also not adequate for the school whose enrolment stands at 479 pupils. Of these, 216 are boys and 263 girls. The school has a learners from the Nursery section to Primary Seven.

Asiimwe Twinamatsiko, the deputy head teacher admitted that indeed the school  has had no toilet and that teachers and some of the pupils have been using a toilet at a church which is in long distance from school premises.

Speaking to some of the pupils, they confirmed that they share the single latrine with teachers which most of the time is congested.

“Male teachers use our boys’ toilet while female teachers use the girls’ toilet which annoys us,” a pupil said.

Emmanuel Muhwezi, a concerned citizen asked government and Ibanda district education officials to consider establishing a toilet facility for teachers.

Muhwezi said the only toilet that exists was recently constructed by parents under the parents’ contribution fund.

“I want to thank parents for constructing pupils’ toilet I ask them to go and construct teachers’ toilet” he said

The school deputy head teacher Twinamatsiko also appealed to the district authorities and well wishers to support his school in establishing physical infrastructure including classrooms which have dusty floors.

Fridah Birekyeraho, the councilor for Kagongo and Bishese Divisions pledged to mobilize parents to construct teachers’ toilet facility at the school.
