Popular takeaway chain, ‘Chicken Tonight’ has announced it is set to embark on training their staffers on better customer care following a PR scandal involving singer Angella Katatumba.

Katatumba sued Management of the fast foods chain after she together with a Jamaican singer (Kuzi Kz) were allegedly assaulted by a gang mobilized by staffers of Chicken Tonight Kabalagala.

The two had stopped by at the eatery at around 5am in the morning to eat after a session in studio, when a mistake by a waiter who served them culminated into physical assault against Angella and Kuzi Kz. The same assaulters reportedly stole Angella’s bag containing Shs 6.2 million cash.

Three male staffers including the Manager of the Kabalagala outlet, a waiter and a security guard were on Friday charged in court with assault, theft and causing grievous harm, and remanded to Luzira prison.

Now, faced with PR nightmare, the Management of Chicken Tonight have issued a statement regretting the incident and said they will train their staff on customer care.

“We have commenced a review of our practices and hope to work together with customers to adopt best practices,” a statement carried in one of the dailies partly.

It added: “Going forward, we shall ensure the our condiments are well labeled and further equip pur staff with better customer care skills”.

Such a nasty incident with a female celebrity as a victim is undoubtedly likely to affect customer confidence in the takeaway whose footprint is sopread across the city.

Management said it is “currently conducting an investigation to prevent further reocurrence”.

“‘I Feel Like Chicken Tonight’ does not tolerate any acts of violence, disrespect or discrimination. The actions of our Kabalagala outlet are not representative of our mission and values,” the statement further read.

The business says it has taken lessons from the scandal and that customers should expect better.
