The Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) Female Campus has won the 13th Annual National Inter-University Constitutional Law Moot Court Competition organised by the Centre for Health, Human Rights and Development (CEHURD).
IUIU Female Campus emerged as the overall winner after the final round of oral submissions, with Uganda Pentecostal University (UPU) Fort Portal Campus finishing as first runners-up.
The competition brought together law students from universities across Uganda for constitutional law advocacy involving legal research, written submissions and oral arguments.
CEHURD announced the results in a social media post on September 25, 2026, congratulating the participating institutions and students for their work throughout the competition.
Katimbo Alison Faith of IUIU Female Campus was named Best Oralist, while Uganda Christian University (UCU), Mukono Campus, won Best Memorial.
The IUIU Kampala Campus received the award for Second-Best Memorial.
CEHURD said the competing teams had spent months researching, preparing and developing their constitutional law arguments before facing off in the final oral submissions.
The organisation also recognised the contribution of law students, coordinators, clerks and judges who participated in the 13th edition.
CEHURD said the competition is intended to strengthen students’ legal research, advocacy and courtroom skills while exposing them to constitutional and human rights issues.
The organisation said the lessons and confidence gained through the moot would extend beyond the competition, contributing to the development of young lawyers and future human rights advocates in Uganda.
