Ecobank Uganda and Serena Hotels have partnered to give Ecobank debit and credit cardholders access to preferential rates and exclusive hospitality, travel, dining and wellness experiences across participating Serena properties in Africa and Asia.
The partnership, launched in Kampala, brings together two established brands with a shared focus on customer experience, innovation and convenience. It enables Ecobank cardholders to enjoy a range of benefits when they use their cards at participating Serena properties in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Mozambique, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Tajikistan.
The benefits include a 10% discount on accommodation, 15% off Maisha Spa treatments, 7.5% off food and beverages, and 5% discounts on Serena Gift Shops, Hair Gallery services, airport transfers and full-day car hire.
Cardholders will also enjoy priority waitlisting for hotel reservations, access to exclusive Serena member events, bonus and double loyalty-point promotions, and a complimentary tropical fruit basket during eligible stays. Customers will further have the opportunity to donate loyalty points towards Serena community initiatives.
The partnership is part of Ecobank Uganda’s strategy to deliver value beyond traditional banking by combining secure digital payments with lifestyle and travel benefits.
Grace Muliisa, Managing Director of Ecobank Uganda, said the partnership reflects the Bank’s commitment to creating value beyond financial transactions.
“At Ecobank, we believe banking should create value beyond financial transactions. This partnership with Serena Hotels reflects our commitment to delivering exceptional experiences that reward our customers for choosing Ecobank every day.”
She said the collaboration would give customers greater convenience and access to exclusive privileges while supporting the adoption of secure, cashless payments.
“As customer expectations continue to evolve, we remain committed to building partnerships that enhance everyday life while supporting the adoption of secure, cashless payments. This collaboration is another step towards creating an integrated banking ecosystem that places our customers at the center of everything we do,” Muliisa added.
Khaled Helmy, General Manager of Kampala Serena Hotel, said the partnership brings together two brands committed to excellence, innovation and customer satisfaction.
“Our partnership with Ecobank Uganda brings together two trusted brands with a shared commitment to excellence, innovation and customer satisfaction. We are delighted to extend these exclusive privileges to Ecobank cardholders and look forward to welcoming them across our properties throughout the region.”
Helmy added that the partnership would create greater value for travellers by combining premium hospitality with the convenience and security of digital payments.
Ecobank Uganda, a subsidiary of Ecobank Transnational Incorporated, is part of the Ecobank Group, a leading pan-African banking group with operations across more than 35 African countries.
The partnership also encourages Ecobank customers to join the Serena Loyalty Programme, which offers additional savings, member privileges and personalised experiences.
Ecobank cardholders can access the benefits by using their Ecobank debit or credit cards at participating Serena properties, making everyday card payments an avenue to greater travel, hospitality and lifestyle value.
