“I congratulate Pride Bank for the tremendous progress it has made over the years. As the financial sector continues to evolve, digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence represent the future, and I encourage the bank to invest in these technologies to enhance efficiency, improve customer experience and deepen financial inclusion,” Musasizi said.

He emphasized the need for financial institutions to provide affordable financing to support enterprise growth and wealth creation.

“We also want to see Ugandans accessing affordable credit at favourable interest rates to support business growth and wealth creation. As Government, we remain committed to supporting the bank and working closely with its leadership to ensure it continues to thrive,” he added.

The engagement brought together officials from the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development and Pride Bank’s management team to review the institution’s performance, discuss its strategic direction, and strengthen collaboration in advancing Uganda’s financial inclusion agenda.

Pride Bank Managing Director Ms. Veronicah Gladys Namagembe thanked the ministry for its continued support and guidance, describing the engagement as a reflection of the strong partnership between government and the financial institution.

“Today’s engagement demonstrates the strong partnership between Pride Bank and Government in driving Uganda’s economic development. We remain committed to transforming lives through accessible, affordable and innovative financial services,” Namagembe said.

She reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to leveraging technology to improve service delivery and expand financial access.

“As we continue investing in digital technologies and modern banking solutions, our focus remains on delivering greater value to our customers while supporting national development priorities,” she added.

During the meeting, Pride Bank shared details of its Digital First Bank Strategy, outlining planned investments in digital and technology infrastructure aimed at improving operational efficiency, strengthening customer experience, and extending financial services to more Ugandans.

The discussions underscored a shared commitment between government and the bank to promote sustainable economic growth through a stronger financial sector, increased access to affordable financing, and the adoption of technology-driven solutions that respond to the changing needs of customers.

Pride Bank said its transformation agenda remains focused on supporting Uganda’s broader socio-economic development goals through inclusive finance, innovation, and strategic partnerships.
