Mondays are often associated with routine and pressure, but Mezo Noir has spent the past year redefining the start of the week through its signature theme night, Useless Mondays.
On June 8, the Kololo-based venue, in partnership with luxury tequila brand Don Julio, marked the event’s first anniversary with a special celebration that blended premium experiences, music, and nightlife culture.
Hosted by DJ Dash, the weekly experience has grown into a key fixture on Kampala’s social calendar, known for its fusion of entertainment and elevated lifestyle experiences.
The anniversary began with a Don Julio tequila masterclass led by mixologists from the brand’s advocacy team. Guests were introduced to the core range and guided through cocktail-making sessions featuring margaritas, palomas, and personalised creations served in signature glassware and engraved Don Julio ceramic cups.
As the night progressed, bottle service became a highlight, with choreographed presentations of Don Julio 1942 adding a theatrical touch to the celebration.
Judie Nandekya, Senior Brand Manager for Tequila and Rum at UBL East Africa, said the partnership continues to deliver memorable consumer experiences.
“Our partnership with Useless Mondays is a natural fit, because it’s hosted by our very own DJ Dash. Through this partnership, we have had another chance to curate a memorable experience at Mezo, and this time on a Monday night. I am confident that everyone here has had such a great time,” she said.
The night featured performances from DJs Zonke Africa, Sssese, Edwizzy Selekta, Kash Pro, City Girl, Kwesta 43, and Scarz, delivering a mix of Afro-electronic, hip hop, Amapiano, Afrohouse, and dancehall.
DJ Dash headlined and hosted the night, while MC Vianna Indi guided guests through the evening’s activities.
