KAMPALA — Finance Trust Bank has marked International Women’s Day by supporting vulnerable children at Noah’s Ark Children’s Village Uganda, a home that cares for physically challenged children.
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities, the bank donated food and essential household supplies worth about Shs10 million to the home to support the children’s nutrition and daily welfare.
The donation included posho, rice, beans, groundnuts, cooking oil, sugar, soya porridge, bread, tissue paper, pampers and cleaning supplies such as soap to help improve hygiene and living conditions for the children.
The initiative also highlights the bank’s commitment to supporting women-led initiatives, particularly those focused on improving the welfare of children and vulnerable communities.
Speaking during the visit, Annette Kiggundu, the Executive Director of Finance Trust Bank, said the institution believes in supporting organisations that care for children and strengthen communities.

“At Finance Trust Bank, we strongly believe in supporting women, especially those who dedicate their lives to serving vulnerable children,” Ms Kiggundu said. “Children are very delicate members of our society — they need love, care, and a supportive environment to thrive. We deeply appreciate the incredible work being done here at Noah’s Ark Children’s Village to nurture and protect the young lives of these physically challenged children.”
She added that the bank recognises and celebrates the dedication of the home’s founder and management, particularly on a day that highlights the achievements and impact of women.
“Ms Nakato Angella Hellen, who runs the day-to-day operations of Noah’s Ark Children’s Village, laid a foundation that continues to transform lives,” she said. “Today the home cares for physically challenged children who are deserted by their parents, and we commend the team for the remarkable job they are doing. As a women-led bank, Finance Trust Bank believes in supporting initiatives that resonate with our values of compassion, empowerment and community development.”
The founder and director of Noah’s Ark Children’s Village Uganda, Nakato Angela Hellen, welcomed the support and thanked the bank for remembering the children during the celebration.

“We are grateful to Finance Trust Bank for remembering the children during this special day,” she said. “The donated food items and supplies will go a long way in supporting the children’s daily needs and ensuring they continue to grow in a safe and nurturing environment.”
Nakato added that running the home has not been easy, but partnerships with organisations help sustain their work. “It has not been easy, but organisations like Finance Trust Bank empower us to continue driving our agenda and ensuring that physically challenged children can live as normal a life as possible,” she said.
The initiative aligns with Finance Trust Bank’s broader CSR and sustainability agenda, which focuses on promoting inclusive development, supporting women and strengthening communities across Uganda. Through such initiatives, the bank says it hopes to continue improving the lives of vulnerable groups while empowering communities.
