MÁLAGA, SPAIN – Ugandan long-distance star Mande Bushendich delivered one of the most phenomenal marathon debuts in recent history, conquering the Generali Maratón de Málaga earlier today in Spain.
The young athlete not only secured a commanding victory but also obliterated the previous course record, crossing the finish line in an extraordinary time of 2 hours, 6 minutes, and 7 seconds (2:06:07).
The remarkable performance sets a new benchmark for the Spanish race, eclipsing the previous course record of 2:07:39.
Bushendich’s blistering pace from the start marked a statement for his transition to the 42.195km distance, announcing him as a formidable new presence on the world marathon scene.
The 28-year-old Ugandan runner was in a class of his own, leaving his competitors behind to focus on the clock and the record books.
