Dar es Salaam, Tanzania – President Samia Suluhu Hassan has officially taken the oath of office as President of the United Republic of Tanzania, marking the beginning of her second term in leadership.

In her inaugural address, President Samia expressed deep gratitude to Almighty God and to the people of Tanzania for the trust and confidence placed in her and the ruling party, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM). She described the occasion as a significant milestone for herself, for Tanzanians, and for the nation at large.

“Thanks be to Almighty God, Most Gracious and Most Merciful, for this great and important day for me, for Tanzanians, and for our Nation,” she said.

“I thank all Tanzanians for the great trust you have placed in me and in CCM for granting us the mandate to continue serving our Nation.”

Calling for unity, President Samia stressed that the election period was now over and urged all citizens to focus on building the nation together.

After securing a decisive 98% of the vote in her re-election, President Samia used her inauguration speech to deliver a stern warning — her government will not tolerate anyone who threatens the peace and stability of the country.

“The cornerstone of our nation’s success is peace,” she affirmed.

“We shall continue to prioritize the preservation of this vital pillar, and we will show no leniency toward anyone who attempts to undermine it. Such a person is not one of us — that is not the Tanzanian way.”

President Samia’s re-election reaffirms her leadership as Tanzania continues to pursue sustained economic growth, strengthened regional cooperation, and inclusive social transformation under her administration.
