“Radiology Album dropping soon in all the music stores. We will be dropping his new album each year on his birthday 25th Jan for the next 20 years. Mark your calendar,” the Radio and Weasel twitter account posted over the weekend.

Radio who was the half of the duo group Goodlyfe together with Weasel was an acclaimed songwriter whose unique lyrics were profoundly captivating, little wonder that the duo had in just 10 years of their music career already been nominated for a BET Award.

It is reported that Radio had made a large compilation of songs at the time he passed on.

SoftPower News spoke with Emotions, the Goodlyfe International Manager to understand how much music the singer left behind and to get a sense of how this project will be commercialized.

“That is confidential. Just like Tupac died and his music kept on coming out. But we don’t know how much he left behind,” he said, when asked how many songs Radio left unreleased.

“He [Radio] will be releasing an album of 10 songs for the next 20 years, even years more to come,” Emotions added.

He said that Weasel will be featuring on the albums while he also works on his solo projects.

Radio’s death evoked a couple of debates around music and its management, but also the controversial issue of copyrights and how musicians can draw more benefits from their works even after their demise. Some artistes argued that had the copyright law been in place, perhaps Radio’s yet-to-be-released music would have sustained his family financially.

Asked whether the funds generated from selling Radio’s songs would benefit Radio’s family, Emotions told this website; “Of course the proceeds will go to the family”.

Regarding the commercial strategy, he said the albums will be sold through international digital music stores as well as local content platforms.

“We do have different music stores worldwide – in the UK and the US that we are partnering with to sale these albums. And digital platforms like iTunes, plus content providers like D-Mark, SMS One and Chano8. So, we do have a lot,” Emotions said.

The news regarding the plan to immortalize Radio have stirred excitement among Radio and Weasel’s fans, many of them saying they can not wait.
