The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) has announced that the Annual Kampala Hills Run, initially scheduled for Sunday, October 12, 2025, has been rescheduled to Sunday, November 2, 2025, due to circumstances beyond the organisers’ control.
In a statement, NSSF Head of Marketing and Corporate Affairs, Barbra Teddy Arimi, assured stakeholders that the date change would not affect the event’s overall objectives or planned activities. The run will still start at 6:00 a.m. from Kololo Independence Grounds, with participants tackling the city’s iconic hills over distances of 21km and 10km.
“While we recognise the inconvenience this change may cause to our partners and the public, we are confident it also opens the door for even greater participation,” Ms Arimi said. “We encourage both our long-standing partners and new participants to join us in improving the education sector by purchasing a kit at UGX 35,000 and taking part in this worthwhile cause.”
She extended appreciation to the partners and members of the public who have already pledged their support toward the initiative.

The NSSF Kampala Hills Run is organised in partnership with MTN, Housing Finance Bank, and Next Media, alongside several other corporate partners including Vision Group, Nation Media Group, StarTimes, Standard Chartered Bank, Bank of Uganda, Sybil, SMS Construction, Centenary Bank, the Insurance Regulatory Authority, Clarkson Insurance Brokers, Crown Beverages, Yo Uganda, Victoria Hospital, Uganda Clays Limited, and the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda, among others.
The annual run aims to mobilise funds to enhance learning conditions in public primary schools through classroom refurbishment, improved sanitation facilities, and promotion of digital literacy. Since its inception, the initiative has supported the renovation of 25 primary schools across Uganda, benefiting over 40,000 pupils daily. These efforts have led to a 12% increase in school enrolment and a 10% reduction in dropout rates among beneficiary institutions.
Individuals, groups, and organisations interested in participating can register and purchase kits by dialling 217277#, visiting the NSSF website at www.nssfug.org/nssfrun, or using MTN MoMo at www.momoticketing.com/nssfrun.
