Abeokuta, Nigeria | Uganda’s young athletes continued to stamp their authority on the continental athletics stage with a stunning gold and silver finish in the U20 Women’s 5000m at the CAA African U18 & U20 Championships, which concluded on Sunday evening.
Charity Cherop delivered a dominant performance to claim gold in a time of 15:10.88, while compatriot Risper Cherop followed closely to secure silver, completing a remarkable 1-2 finish for Uganda. Kenya’s Sharon Chepkemoi took bronze, rounding off the podium.
