Uganda’s celebrated jazz icon, Isaiah Katumwa, is set to mark a significant milestone in his illustrious career, 30 years of transformative music with a special concert titled “Isaiah Katumwa @30.”
Scheduled for Sunday, July 20, 2025, at the Kampala Serena Hotel, the event promises to be a night of elegance, reflection, and world-class jazz, honouring a legacy that has shaped Uganda’s music landscape for three decades.
Visibly emotional, Katumwa described the upcoming concert ‘as the most important show in his life.’
“This could be the most meaningful show I’ve ever done,” he said. “It’s not just about me, it’s about lifting others as I rise. I have had the privilege of working with the best in the world, and I want to pass that excellence on. This concert will be about mentorship, professionalism, soul, and an unforgettable experience.”

He also shared that one of his proudest accomplishments is nurturing young talent and sharing the stage with some of the very musicians he has mentored.
To commemorate this momentous journey, Johnnie Walker Green Label has come on board as the platinum sponsor, underscoring its commitment to celebrating trailblazers who embody the spirit of perseverance and evolution.
“For three decades, Isaiah has stayed true to his craft, elevating jazz and seamlessly weaving it into Uganda’s cultural identity,” said Francis Kirabira, Johnnie Walker Brand Representative, “His journey reflects the values of craft, consistency, and character, all of which resonate with Johnnie Walker Green Label,”
The concert will feature stellar performances and special collaborations with some of Uganda’s finest artists, including Naava Grey, Michael Ouma, Michael Kitanda, and Joseph Sax, among others.
