Stanbic Bank Uganda has joined forces with UNICAF, a leading pan-African online education platform, to provide its clients — especially youth — with generous scholarships of up to 82% for internationally accredited degrees and professional development programmes.

The partnership will benefit Stanbic clients interested in pursuing Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees, as well as short, skill-based professional courses, from top UNICAF partner universities in the UK and Europe, including the University of Suffolk, Liverpool John Moores University, and the University of East London.

“Many Ugandan families continue to face real financial barriers to accessing higher education,” said Israel Arinaitwe, Head of Personal Banking at Stanbic Bank Uganda. “Through this partnership with UNICAF, we are helping to remove those barriers by offering scholarships of up to 82%. It’s one of the ways we are walking our talk in driving Uganda’s growth — by investing in people and giving our youth the tools to shape a better future.”

The offer is open to all Stanbic clients — youth, parents, and working professionals — and includes scholarships for courses in leadership, technology, soft skills, and business, with flexible online learning options designed to fit any lifestyle.

UNICAF’s Uganda Country Representative, Moses Turyagumanawe, emphasised the impact of the partnership in closing the education gap. “UNICAF was created to democratize access to quality higher education in Africa. By partnering with Stanbic, we’re now able to reach even more Ugandans who dream of earning globally respected qualifications but lack the means.”

For students in Senior 2 to Senior 6, the initiative offers tailored short courses — provided they or their parents hold a Stanbic Bank account — helping teens prepare early for the future job market.

“Education is the heartbeat of the economy,” said Brenda Namanda, Manager for Youth and Family Banking at Stanbic. “We’re investing in the professionals, innovators, and leaders of tomorrow. This isn’t just about education — it’s about shaping Uganda’s future.”

This partnership builds on Stanbic’s existing youth empowerment programmes, such as the National Schools Championship, the Graduate Trainee Program, and Women Elevate, reinforcing the bank’s commitment to inclusive and transformative education.

Clients interested in applying for a scholarship can visit any Stanbic branch or contact UNICAF directly through their official platforms.
