Marketing brilliance has a new name this year, and it’s Colin Asiimwe, Head of Marketing at MultiChoice Uganda, who has been crowned Best Marketer of the Year (Corporate & Per Region – Gold Winner) at the MultiChoice Africa Awards 2025.

The award, which celebrates strategic excellence and innovation in marketing across the continent, was announced on June 10, 2025, to much acclaim from industry leaders and marketing professionals.

The Uganda Marketers Society (UMS), in partnership with the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and the African Marketing Confederation, celebrated Asiimwe’s achievement as a national milestone in marketing excellence.

“Winners don’t complain. They just win,” Asiimwe shared in a post-event reflection. “To the magical marketing team that makes it all look easy—this win is for us.”

A Career Built on Strategy and Collaboration

With over 15 years of experience in marketing and brand strategy, Colin Asiimwe has earned a reputation for driving impactful campaigns, forging meaningful client relationships, and delivering real business growth across sectors. His win at the MultiChoice Africa Awards is a resounding endorsement of his bold leadership and vision.

Reflecting on the award, Colin emphasised the importance of teamwork and creative partnerships.

“This isn’t a solo journey,” he wrote. “Our partners—like Maad McCann, our creative and advertising agency—swept the show with 7 Golds, 5 Silvers, and multiple finalist nominations. Their relentless creativity lifts us every single time.”

“Too Early to Rate” – A Powerful Reflection

In a heartfelt note titled “Too Early to Rate,” Colin spoke candidly about the doubts and anxieties that accompanied the campaign journey. “I was told I hadn’t done enough. But sometimes, being underestimated is your greatest weapon,” he wrote. “The real challenge is sustaining success, evolving with your customer, and showing up even when the stakes grow higher.”

The Uganda Marketers Society was among the first to congratulate Colin:“Celebrate with @Spartakussug, Colin Asiimwe, Head of Marketing at @MultiChoiceUganda, on being named the Best Marketer of the Year (Corporate and Per Region – Gold Winner) at the @MultiChoiceGRP Africa Awards!”
