On Friday, 13th June 2025, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni met with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Uganda, His Excellency Matthias Schauer, at State Lodge, Nakasero, for a strategic dialogue aimed at deepening bilateral relations.
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation in key sectors, including trade, investment, technology, and sports development, among others. Both leaders reaffirmed their shared commitment to advancing the longstanding partnership between Uganda and Germany.

President Museveni emphasised the importance of fostering partnerships grounded in mutual respect and aligned development goals, reiterating Uganda’s dedication to sustainable and inclusive growth.
Ambassador Schauer expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and the opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue, noting his optimism about the continued expansion of Uganda–Germany relations.

Later in a post on his official social media account, President Museveni shared: “Last evening, I met with His Excellency Matthias Schauer, the German Ambassador to Uganda. We had a productive discussion regarding mutual interests between our countries. I welcome him.”
The meeting reflects the growing momentum in Uganda’s diplomatic engagements aimed at driving national development through international cooperation.
