The news of his death broke on social media and was met with an outpouring of grief and tributes from fellow artists, media colleagues, and fans across the country and beyond. The exact cause and circumstances of his death have not yet been made public.

Just a day before his passing, DJ Bush Baby posted a deeply personal tweet reflecting on life, joy, and a moment shared with his younger sister: “It’s the little things that make life big for me. True happiness is elusive… Still feels like my last dance,” he wrote.

It's the little things that make life big for me. True happiness is elusive. Recently, I shared a joyful moment with my ❤️ lovely last born baby sister, CHERRY 🍒. Indescribable JOY!
Still feels like my last 🕺 dance.

Musician A Pass was among the many who paid tribute, tweeting: “It’s really sad to see a legendary man like DJ Bush Baby leaving, but God knows why. He was a great man with an amazing personality. Your kindness will not be forgotten, my brother.”

DJ Bush Baby was known for his trailblazing role in shaping modern Ugandan radio and television. His career spanned decades, including work with media houses such as Sanyu FM, Capital FM, and NTV. He mentored many young creatives and was instrumental in fusing local music with global sounds on Ugandan airwaves.

He also produced several music projects and hosted shows that championed homegrown talent, helping define the sound of Uganda’s urban music scene.

As the nation mourns, fans have flooded timelines with clips, pictures, and memories of the DJ’s legendary voice and warm-hearted demeanour. Funeral arrangements are yet to be announced.
