The Consulate General of the Republic of Uganda in Dubai has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Aster DM Healthcare and Uganda’s Ministry of Health, marking a significant step toward enhancing healthcare access in underserved communities across the country.

Under the agreement, Aster DM Healthcare—one of the largest integrated healthcare providers in the GCC—will donate a fully equipped mobile medical clinic to Uganda. The mobile unit is designed to expand the reach of primary healthcare services to remote and rural areas, improving health outcomes for populations with limited access to medical facilities.

Aster DM Healthcare, known for its network of hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, and digital platforms such as myAster, has built a strong reputation for delivering affordable, high-quality care. Through this initiative, the group is extending its humanitarian impact beyond borders, strengthening ties with Uganda through health-focused partnerships.

The mobile clinic, currently being custom-built in India, will feature advanced diagnostic and treatment capabilities. It is expected to arrive in Uganda within the next three months, after which it will begin serving communities across the country.

The official MoU signing ceremony will be held in Kampala, with attendance from senior officials at the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives from Aster DM Healthcare, and other key partners.

This partnership also lays the foundation for a broader, long-term collaboration. Future phases will include the deployment of UAE-based medical professionals to support Ugandan health workers through specialist outreach programmes, knowledge exchange initiatives, and capacity-building efforts aimed at strengthening Uganda’s overall healthcare delivery systems.

This landmark initiative reflects the shared commitment of both Uganda and Aster DM Healthcare to promote equitable access to healthcare and improve the well-being of all citizens.
