Telangana, India — Uganda is beaming with pride after Natasha Nyonyozi, the reigning Miss Uganda, was crowned the Beauty With a Purpose Overall Winner for Africa at the prestigious Miss World 2025 pageant, held in Telangana, India.

The accolade honours contestants whose social impact projects have made a transformative difference in their communities.

Natasha’s victory is powered by her personal and passionate campaign, the Nyonyozi Initiative, which advocates for autism awareness and inclusion. The project, born from her own experience growing up alongside her autistic brother Ethan, has been lauded internationally for reshaping how Ugandan society understands and supports neurodivergent children.

“God truly outdid Himself with this one!” Natasha posted on her official X (formerly Twitter) account. “I dedicate this award to my beloved brother Ethan and every individual on the spectrum — the real heroes who show up every day.”

The Nyonyozi Initiative, backed by partnerships with schools, communities, NGOs, and families, has worked to dismantle stigma around autism and empower caregivers and educators with tools for inclusive learning. The project also amplifies the voices of children often left out of mainstream developmental frameworks.

In an emotional speech and a flurry of social media gratitude, Natasha thanked the Miss World Organisation, her Miss Uganda Foundation family, and all the organisations that contributed to her project, including Autism Society Uganda, Hands for Hope Inclusion, Angels Centre Uganda, and Reach a Hand Uganda, among many others.

“This monumental achievement is a testament to her unwavering dedication, passion and commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of others,” read a statement from @MissUgOfficial, Uganda’s official Miss World pageant body.

Back home, the announcement has sparked widespread celebration. From parents of autistic children to national leaders and ordinary citizens, Natasha’s triumph is being hailed not just as a personal victory but a national statement on compassion, inclusivity, and youth-driven change.

Her project will now receive further global attention and support as she continues to advocate for a more inclusive future, one where no child is left behind because of who they are.

As Uganda celebrates this major win on the global pageantry stage, Natasha Nyonyozi’s journey reminds the world that real beauty lies in service — and that when purpose meets passion, crowns follow.
