Equity Group is organising the 2025 Trade and Investment Roadshow this month, beginning in Tanzania and later moving to Uganda, with a focus on unlocking East Africa’s vast economic opportunities and fostering strategic partnerships across key sectors.

The Tanzania leg of the roadshow will be held on May 19-20, gathering business executives, senior government officials, and potential investors at a series of forums in Dar es Salaam. The sessions will focus on Tanzania’s fast-growing infrastructure sector, expanding consumer market, and abundant natural resources.

Participants will have an opportunity to network directly with senior officials and local industry leaders, laying the foundation for future trade agreements and investment projects.

The Uganda leg of the roadshow will commence on May 20 and will run until May 23, building on the momentum gained in Tanzania. In Uganda, the emphasis will be on providing potential investors with deeper insights into the country’s thriving business environment.

Uganda, with its population of 48 million and a GDP per capita of $1,003.5, presents an attractive investment destination. The country boasts multiple oil reserves, fertile agricultural land, a vibrant tourism sector, and a steadily growing economy.

Participants in Uganda will benefit from direct engagement with leaders from sectors including oil and gas, agriculture, tourism, and infrastructure. The sessions are designed not only to showcase existing opportunities but also to inspire new ideas for sustainable investment.

The Trade and Investment Roadshow is part of Equity Group’s broader 2025 Trade Missions and Webinars calendar, an ambitious programme aimed at boosting regional and international investment into East Africa. Earlier webinars this year spotlighted investment opportunities in Kenya’s manufacturing and agricultural sectors, as well as preliminary discussions on Tanzanian and Ugandan markets.

Looking ahead, Equity Group has lined up several in-person trade missions and webinars, including trips to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Rwanda later this year.

The roadshow in Tanzania and Uganda marks a significant step toward realising that vision — bridging continents, strengthening partnerships, and laying the groundwork for a new era of prosperity across East Africa.
