KCB Bank Unveils Mutebi Nasser for 2025 Pearl of Africa Rally Championship

KCB Bank Uganda Limited has officially unveiled rally driver Mutebi Nasser as the newest addition to their team ahead of the 2025 Pearl of Africa Rally Championship.

The announcement was made during an exciting press event at the KCB Bank Head Office, Lohana Towers, Lugogo Bypass, where the Bank also reaffirmed its commitment to motorsport with a major sponsorship boost.

In a strong show of support for this year’s rally campaign, KCB Bank announced a sponsorship package of UGX 270 million. Of this, UGX 80 million will go directly to the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU) to support event preparations and logistics, while UGX 167 million will back their impressive lineup of drivers, including Michael George Mukula Jr., Oscar Ntambi, and now, Mutebi Nasser.

Speaking at the event, KCB Bank Uganda Managing Director, Edgar Byamah, said: “The Pearl of Africa Rally is more than just a race — it’s a celebration of skill, endurance, and the resilient spirit of Ugandan motorsport. We are proud to deepen our involvement in this iconic event, reaffirming our commitment to nurturing local talent and promoting Uganda’s potential on the regional and global stage.”

Sheila Awori, Acting Head of Marketing and Communications at KCB Bank Uganda, emphasised the Bank’s efforts to bring fans closer to the action: “At KCB Bank, we believe in bringing our customers closer to the moments that inspire them. Through our continued support for the Pearl of Africa Rally and our talented drivers, we are fueling the dreams of many young Ugandans. This year, fans can even purchase rally tickets easily through KCBPay by dialling 2449# — quick, safe, and seamless.”

Representing the drivers, Michael George Mukula Jr. expressed gratitude for the Bank’s unwavering support: “We are honoured to represent KCB Bank once again this year. Their support motivates us to focus on excellent performance, knowing that we have the full backing of a partner that believes in the growth of Ugandan motorsport.”

Beyond Uganda, KCB’s motorsport passion extends across the region, as the Bank continues to sponsor top East African drivers, including Kenya’s Karan Patel and Nikhil Sachania.

The 2025 Pearl of Africa Rally, organised by the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU), remains the crown jewel of Uganda’s motorsport calendar, promising thrilling action as the country’s top drivers battle for national glory, with KCB Bank Uganda right in the heart of the race.
