In the latest attempt to crack the whip on the alleged criminality perpetrated by notorious Boda Boda 2010, Military Police has ransacked the offices of the rogue group and uncovered dangerous materials suspected to have been used to commit crimes.

The ‘Red top’ armed officers attached to the Military Police Unit sealed off the Boda Boda 2010 offices in Wakaliga on Saturday evening and arrested some people suspected to belong to the group.

In the same operation, a range of items including machetes, steel picks, hammers, pliers, chisels, iron bars and several other metallic tools believed to have been used for break-ins and robberies were doing inside the offices.

Military Police also discovered mobile phones, laptops, cameras, military caps and numerous number plates.

This happened hours after this website broke news about the arrest of the leader of the notorious group and NRM Chairman for Rubaga division, Abdullah Kitatta by Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI) officers.

Kitatta was picked up from Wakaliga where he was hiding in a lodge. He is accused of several crimes including masterminding the gruesome murder of a Case Hospital accountant, Francis Ekalungar weeks ago.

He will also aid investigations in other unresolved cases like murders, espionage activities, robberies, women murders in Wakiso and Entebbe.

Since 2010, Kitatta has been leading Boda Boda 2010, a quasi military group that is said to have unleashed terror and brutality on motorcycle owners and other civilians in Kampala and Wakiso with sheer impunity.

The group claims it has the support of Inspector General of Police, Gen Kale Kayihura and other Police commanders.

Kitatta’s arrest follows two separate arrests on Friday night and Saturday by CMI and CMI respectively where a number of members of the Boda Boda 2010 group we’re picked up in Kyengera and Bwaise.
