Capital FM, Uganda’s leading radio station, has announced the return of its highly anticipated “The Capital Big Wedding” Season 8. Since its inception in 2013, the Big Wedding has been a fully paid, dream wedding experience for a lucky couple, courtesy of Capital FM and its partners.

The initiative aims to reward the station’s loyal listeners and celebrate the beauty of love and humanity. Interested couples are invited to apply by sharing their unique love stories, explaining why they deserve this extraordinary wedding experience.

At the launch event held at Speke Resort Munyonyo, Capital FM Uganda’s CEO, Jackson Mungoma, emphasized the significance of the Big Wedding. “This event celebrates humanity in and inspires couples to share their stories, motivating those planning to tie the knot.”

Ronald Muhereza, Sales Manager at Capital Radio, outlined the application process. “Couples must submit truthful information about their love lives, accompanied by a two-minute video.” The deadline for submissions is October 13.

The top ten couples will then qualify for the next stage. The second round of voting will commence to pick the top five finalists. The final round of voting will take place between October 25 and October 27, with the winning couple announced on October 28. The Big wedding will take place on November 22, at Speke Resort Munyonyo.

XCY Events, led by Chris Galukande, will capture and document memories for this year’s ‘Big Wedding’. According to Galukande, “We will follow the participating couples’ magical journey from the initial stages to the wedding day and honeymoon.”

“At XCY Events, we believe every couple’s love story is unique,” he added. “Our team will collaborate with Capital FM to craft stunning visual narratives that showcase each couple’s emotions and joy.”

The winning couple will also enjoy an all-expenses-paid honeymoon in Dubai courtesy of the partners.
