Some were picked from Muhoro, Mabaale, Kiryanga and Kagadi town council among other places. The suspects also include bar owners and prominent people in the district.

Joan Akello, the Kagadi District Police Commander (DPC) said on Monday that some of the suspects were found drinking in bars beyond midnight yet government has not yet permitted bars to operate.

Akello said that operations against all persons found flouting the Covid-19 health and safety protocols were still on.

She also said operations to crackdown criminals and those flouting covid-19 guidelines will  continue in the district.

According to Akello, the suspects who are locked up at Kagadi central police station will be charged under the Public Health Act. URN
