He said the guards’ Illegal operations affected the movement of vehicles which attracted police and military deployments in Mutungo to swing into action and arrested the soldiers.

“UPDF condemns such behaviour in the strongest terms. Such indiscipline shall never be tolerated as it jeopardizes the good working relationship between the two sister forces.”

He said the soldiers will be arraigned before the Court Martial.

Those in custody include RA/ 130320 Corporal Kasaija Niclous, RA/ 266122 Private Oleti Isaac, RA/ 155534 Corporal Leti Jacob and RA/ 262502 Private Kazibwe Javira.

“We salute the police officers that took action,” added Col Akiiki.
