Several people have been left injured after a bus got involved in an accident in the Southwestern district of Ibanda. Over twenty people are reported to have sustained severe injuries.
The bus Reg No UAR 296J, belonging to Baby Coach company which was transporting refugees to Rwamwanja refugee settlement in Kamwenge district overturned at a place called Kyirimiire near Ibanda town. The incident occurred this morning at around 11am.
Five people are feared to have died on the spot, however the reports are not yet confirmed.
The bus was part of a convoy of 20 buses that were relocating refugees to a refugee camp. It is said that the accident happened after the bus attempted to dodge a motorcycle and in the process failed to negotiate a corner.
