KABALE – Police in Kabale have a 45-year-old woman in custody for alleged murder. The suspect has been identified as Restatuta Mbabazi, a resident of Nyamabare cell, Rushaki ward, Southern division in Kabale municipality.
According to Elly Matte, the Kigezi regional police spokesperson, Mbabazi was arrested on Tuesday for questioning in connection to the murder of the Parish Councillor, Ellen Tusiime, 40, who was discovered dead alongside the road to her home in the morning of April 24.
The deceased was last seen at Akampurira’s bar at Omwibare cell at night at 10pm when she left the bar, only to be found dead the next day.
Matte said that Police initiated inquiries and no stone will be left unturned till those involved are brought to book.
“We have her in custody to help us in investigations over the death of this councillor. It is said that the two had for long not been in good terms and the night prior to her death she had been spotted at this woman’s bar,” said Matte
Matte asked residents to avail police with any information in regard to the murder so as to track those behind it.
“I also wish to ask our people to avoid using violent means in sorting out their grievances since there are structures that could see your problems sorted,” he added.
