4 Perish in Fatal Accident Along Masaka – Mbarara Highway

Four people died on spot in a nasty accident which happened along the Masaka – Mbarara highway on Monday.

According to Police spokesperson for Rwizi region, ASP Samson Kasasira, the incident happened on Monday at 5am at Rwebitete in Kiruhura district along Masaka – Mbarara highway.

The accident involved a Fuso lorry Reg No UAV 292W.

Kasasira said that the driver lost control of the Fuso which resulted in the lorry overturning. The driver and 3 other male passengers died instantly.

The deceased have been identified as Denis Sserunjoge (driver), 41, from Lugazi town and Paul Mwoneha (salesman of a steel company), 27, from Jinja. The other two are 24-year-old James Kamuhanda (turn man) from Kyankwanzi and Jova Magali (passenger) from Lugazi town.

The bodies have since been taken by relatives from Lyantonde hospital.

In December last year, we reported another nasty accident which occured in the same area. The accident inolved the vehicle which was being driven by Lyantonde MP, James Kakooza, which rammed into a motorcycle killing one and leaving otherwise with serious injuries.
