2 Police officers arrested for conniving with pastor to rob woman

Professional Standards Unit (PSU) has arrested two police officers for conniving with a city pastor and robbed a woman of Shs 20 million.

According the Professional Standards Unit spokesperson, Vincent Ssekate Fred  Kasango, a detective and Suleiman Kato, an operative attached to Flying Squad at Katwe police station connived with pastor Bright Muyingo of God’s healing power in Nabweru and robbed Sany Kyomuhendo of Shs.20 million.

“The pastor asked Kyomuhendo for money for transport to her home where she would be prayed for from. On the way, she told  him of the Shs 20 million in the bag,” Ssekate told journalists on Thursday.

“The pastor then organized a gang that attacked and robbed her of the money.”

According to Ssekate when Kyomuhendo reported the matter  to Katwe police, she was instead arrested and detained .
He said it was found out the pastor connived with the two police officers.

Ssekate said PSU had also summoned the Katwe OC CID Fred Eriku to explain circumstances under which such crimes could happen and he fails to detect them.

“We are still looking for the pastor who is on the run.”

President Museveni asked the Inspector General of Police, Gen.Kale Kayihura to clean up his force which is infiltrated by criminals.
